Researchers examined the possibility of group exercises being beneficial to medical students. It is a stressful group that could benefit from regular exercise.
Three exercise groups were created by 69 medical students in order to carry out the research.
A group of participants completed a 30-minute fundamental strengthening and functional training session every week. They also performed any additional exercises as required.
One group consisted of individuals who exercised on their own or with two others at least two times per week.
Students in the previous group did not exercise beyond biking or walking to get to their destination.
Researchers measured the student's stress levels as well as their quality of life in the beginning and following the program.
